I wrote this blog a while back, but getting internet where I could upload the pictures has been a bit of a challenge. I finally succeeded so here is the actual blog.
This past weekend, we had the opportunity to go visit Angkor Wat, considered in some circles to be one of the 7 Wonders of the World. We got into Siem Reap the town near Angkor around 11:30 and were up catching a tuk tuk at 5am so that we could watch the sun rise over Angkor Wat. Angkor Wat is actually the largest temple complex in the world and at its height was home to over a million people.
The architecture is impressive when you think about the lack of modern tools and the beauty of the architecture and the carvings are breath taking. But, as I sat at the water's edge and watched the sun rise, I couldn't help but marvel at the wonder of God's creation. Angkor is crumbling. Many experts wonder whether it will survive another 100 years between the effects of rain and humidity and the forest that continues to overtake the stones. Was Angkor more breath taking than the sunrise I saw?

Absolutely not!!! I stood humbled and in awe of the beauty of God's creation as the tree roots tunneled around and through stone and the colors and beauty of the sunrise far surpassed the things made by man.

It was an amazing day and one that I would not trade. I admit, I am a nature lover and so my view of what I saw might be skewed by what I saw. But, I couldn't help but have Psalm 19: 1-6 run through my head.
"The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they display knowledge. There is no speech or language where their voice is not heard. their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world. In the heavens he has pitched a tent for the sun, which is like a bridegroom coming forth from his pavilion, like a champion rejoicing to run his course. It rises at one end of the heavens and makes it circuit to the other: nothing is hidden from its heat."
