Okay friends, I figure it’s time to catch you up on
everything that’s happening. The past
month has been crazy with a lot of changes and all that kind of fun stuff. I Squad was in Bucharest, Romania, for most
of September, doing ministry at Casa Shalom. On Monday we came to Brasov, for a big World
Race conference called The Awakening. Our plans were to go from Brasov to Israel. Upon arrival in Brasov we were told,
surprise, that things changed. This was
a good surprise though!
There is some kind of holiday in Israel at the beginning of
October. The whole country is basically
going to shut down, so instead of going directly to Israel, we are going to
Istanbul, Turkey, for 10 days!!! Hoo-ray! We will continue on to
Israel after that.
This morning we were debriefed on Turkey and Israel. Both are closed countries. Turkey has a muslim culture, and Islam is the
religion within that culture. We will not
going in as missionaries; we are going in as tourists. We’ve been told that the people are hungry
for the truth, and the best way to share this truth is by example.
While we are there, I need people to be VERY CAREFUL with
what they send me over the internet. I
am asking that you please do not comment on ANY of my blogs until we are out of
Israel. I will post a blog to let you
know when it is safe to do so again. If
you do e-mail or facebook me, please be very careful with what you say. No God talk of any kind. Everything over the internet will be monitored.
We as a squad need to be very careful and watch ourselves,
but we also need to protect our contacts. They are taking a huge risk by letting us stay with them, and we don’t
want to do anything to jeopardize their ministries.
I am incredibly excited for this new adventure! I am expecting God to do some really amazing
things. I don’t know how much I will be
on the internet, and I won’t be posting any blogs for the next month, but
please, keep us in your prayers. We are really
going to need them. Nothing chases away
darkness like the prayers of God’s people.
Thank you so much for your understanding. I will talk to you all again in about a
month. Oh, Happy Thanksgiving to all the
Canadians out there!
