My World Race adventure has officially begun!! Right now, we are camping at a seminary campus near Washington D.C. for launch and are preparing to fly to Kenya on Friday! In a lot of ways it still feels a little unreal, but I'm very excited to see what God has in store for us! My team and I will be with our contact Pastor Chris in Kapenguria, Kenya.
Here are a few updates!
First of all, the garage sale went amazingly well! and a HUGE thank you is due to all the wonderful people who helped (especially the Floreys!), those who donated their belongings, and all the people who bought!! We raised around $1,700! and even have enough stuff left over to hold a second sale around October. God definitely blessed the sale and opened people's hearts to give.
Secondly, our race route has changed! (which still may happen again) As of now, we are going to:
Kenya
Uganda
Rwanda
Thailand
Cambodia
Malaysia
Philippines
China
Ukraine
Europe Challenge
Romania
and finally, a support raising update:
I currently have $7,713 in my account! and with checks coming in and monthly pledges my support comes out to about $9,313! which means only $5,487 to go!
God has blessed me an incredible amount through all of my supporters, their prayers and encouragement have been paramount throughout this whole process.
I'd also like to say a special thank you to the anonymous donors. Thank you for giving! and for supporting what God is doing around the world.
In personal news, leaving home was bittersweet. The strangest part has been receiving the last hugs from people for 11 months. I am honestly so looking forward to what God is going to do this year both for those at home and overseas. It's weird still being in the states for the next few days because I'm not totally sure what's happening has really set in yet.
To friends and family: i love you. i miss you. keep me updated on big news! Thank you so much for being supportive of this path God is leading me on. I mean it when I say I'm not sure I would have gotten here without you. God has used each and every one of you more than you know in my life, especially over this summer. I'll see you all soon 🙂
Until Africa…
Erin
