In the past week I´ve learned several very important things.  Things that will inevitably prove valuable in the next year.

1. Toliet paper is a special thing, if you plan on using it, you´d better bring your own.

2. Just because you know enough Spanish to ask for directions doesn´t mean you know enough Spanish to understand the directions.

3. The world as I once knew it will never be the same.

After a few days of slowing immersing ourselves into the Mexican culture, the media team felt brave enough to take a van into town to explore the route that had been mapped out for the Racers.  We spent the day setting up locations to film, finding the bus station, pricing tickets, checking out local internet cafes, and enjoying tacos from a local stand.  The trip was fun, but as we meandered around town, got lost, found, and then lost again my eyes began t
o take in the local scenery in a new way.  The crazy streets we bounced through were filled with vendors, but as I looked closer these strangers didn´t seem so strange.  The walls I had built in my heart began to crumble as I realized the people I saw weren´t strangers, but my brothers and my sisters.  And I love them.  This year I will share life with them.

I have nothing in my possession that I cannot give away.  Nothing is too sacred to not share with the world.  So much has been stuffed into my pack and into my soul.  It is screaming to be poured out and given away.  Starting now.
