I’m heading home from the race in May and people are going to ask about this trip…and I’m going to start laughing.  There’s just moments you can’t adequately describe.  One of our ministry days we went to a center where men with different mental and physical abilities live.  It was an open-air type space with a roof…and on the opposite end of the complex were EMU’s.  In my American brain it seemed logical that the emu’s would be fenced in and doing their emu business from afar…but they weren’t.  Free like the wind the emu’s roamed around through the rows of men staring us down and leaving green sprays of goo behind them as we talked and prayed for the men.  Yep, that’s my life this year…such unexplainable moments of joy, pain, and WEIRD.
