The dash between birth to death is just a dash…but I’m starting to realize that it matters. The mission is simple LOVE OTHERS WELL. There’s a lot to learn about the word LOVE and his name is Jesus…and I don’t think I can even begin to understand all that He is. Joy and Trust are also kinda important…God’s showing me how to live those things out.
Who am I? I’m 34 (and proud of it)…who thought a lot of my hopes and dreams to travel the world and serve Jesus were all but lost. God had other plans. The last three years I ran an after-school program for a rural community…learned and grew a lot through that experience.
I graduated from Concordia University St. Paul many moons ago…majored in Outreach. Passionate about camp ministry, ending sex trafficking, kiddos in Haiti, and loving Underdogs in any shape or form. I enjoy ushering people into God’s presence through worship, and love DEEP conversations. Its a wonder I haven’t fallen into random holes or crevices with wandering around with my trusty camera or run people off with my iffy guitar skills. Done a little bit of traveling…but have a huge Bucket List…some of which involves more traveling…but more towards the top of the list is adopting children…lots and lots of them….ok more than 1 for sure. At the end of the day I want to be better at loving others and just experiencing Christ’s joy more fully.
{ODD FACTS}
– I dig Beards and flannel…ok essentially Lumberjacks…or I guess now days they are called “Axe Men”. Not sure when this fascination started but its true…bearded people make me SMILE.
– I’d like to visit Antarctica and chase penguins.
– My wisdom teeth never grew in.
– I LOVE Bubble Milk Tea and lived in Taiwan for 10 months.
– Countries Traveled (So Far): Canada (eh!), Mexico, Bahamas, Haiti, South Africa, England, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Philippines, Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam.)
– Other than WISCONSIN my favorite state I’ve lived in so far is ALASKA…absolutely fell in LOVE with it…and still LOVE it to this day.
– I have a tattoo.
– When I was younger I wanted to date Patrick Swayze…or at least dance with him.
– True Confession…In high school I wanted to marry a cowboy, divorce him, and take over his cattle ranch with a close friend of mine…this never happend…and its just plain mean now that I think about it. (For most holidays I asked for a horse growing up…also never happened)
– My cars’ name is “Shikira” …she used to be fast and shiny…my GPS’s name is Penelope which sounded British to my ex-boyfriend and his mom.
– I’d be THRILLED to own a cabin/house on a lake some day assuming it has trees to hang a hammock and a quality fire pit for crackly campfires.
– I’d like to adopt 4-6/8 kiddos from Haiti.
– Grown-up Goals…I hope when I’m 80+ I still have faith like a child…and still find jumping in mud puddles or dancing in the rain an absolute blast!
