Every time we go into different villages there always seems to be one child that comes to me that just wants to be held. The Lord is using these children to teach me so much. In the two villages we go to, there has been one specific little boy that has come up to me. Both of these boys run up to me and with both arms extended want so badly to be held. The few times I have put them down they look up at me like I still want to be held. The look in their eyes of desperation makes me all the more want to pick them up again. While they are in my arms, my heart is filled with goodness.
The Lord has been asking me; in the same way these boys want to be held by you, do you want to be held by me? Honestly, sometimes no. Daily the Lord the just wants to wrap His arms around me and just have these precious moments with me the same way I have with the children. Father, I long to be held by you. I want to run to you with arms extended and with the biggest smile on my face.
Ephesians 5:1 "Therefore be imitators of Christ, as dearly loved children…" Children are often referred to as parrots. They repeat every word and every action of the people around them. Sometimes they get so consumed by admiring those around them. Who do you surround yourself with? Who do you imitate? Something of the world or the Lord?
