Living in ignorance of everyone else's problems would be great, right? I mean, ignorance is bliss…
Imagine… sprawling out on your recliner with a cup of coffee. The only problem in the world is there is nothing on the 1,000 channels on the TV in front of you. No hurt. No pain. Utopia.
You have no idea of the suffering. The disease. The shame. The death. The poverty.
But you see the problem is, there are people living in ignorance. No, i'm not knocking middle/upper class Americans. I'm talking about that orphan, that prostitute, that drug addict, that victim of AIDS…
The one whose eyes are closed to the hope, God's love and the happiness that so many of us have to give.
There are people all around the world blind to the things I take for granted. I am SO excited to share it with them.
Ignorance is not bliss, it's dangerous. My eyes have been opened. I leave in less than a week for a journey that is going to be anything but easy. A journey that is going to be anything but certain. But what is certain, is it's exactly what I need to be doing.
Thank you to all who have supported me. This is the last you will hear from me in the States. Next Tuesday, I head to D.C. to meet up with my squad, then a few days later I am off to Costa Rica!!
