Dear 21 Year-Old Self…

        The life you are living is not as gratifying as you think. The alcohol and the weed will only make you happy for a moment. The parties are great, the clubs are fun… but what are you living for? You think you have life figured out now, but you have no idea. 

 

You might not believe in God now, but he will soon change your life. He is pursuing you right now, your heart's just not open. 

 

But soon, you are going to get that call. A friend, only 18 years old, taken from this world because of the same lifestyle you are living. Your heart's going to be open, and your life will be changed forever. 

 

You have made the same mistakes as that boy, but by God's grace have been kept on this earth. He has big plans for you. You will soon go on a trip to change the world, but really the world will change you. 

 

You will be free from your past.

 

You will be free to love.

 

You will be free to live. 

 

Because of what you are walking through now, you will be a light to the world. 

 

You will be able to look into the eyes of the broken and say, "There is hope." 

 

Because you know what hope is. 

 

You will be able to look into the eyes of the children and say, "You are loved."

 

Because you know love.

 

You will be able to look into the eyes of the forgotten and say, "You are known."

 

Because you are known.

 

You will be able to look into the eyes of the lost and say, "You are found."

 

Because you have been found. 

 

And as you sit and plan your night, He is sitting planning your life.
