As my last blog I’m posting a review of my World Race journey with questions that many of you probably have. Thank you for following me and supporting me by reading my blogs and praying. Enjoy!
-Hardest place to sleep – Colombia, with the noisy streets of Medellin and the homeless men living downstairs would wake up at 5am to leave, squealing cars were also pulled out of the echoing building each morning. Or Vietnam where we stayed on the 5th story of a club in one of the busiest cities in the world with non stop music and bass.
-Favorite city – Pamplona, Spain. All of Spain has the most beautiful architecture.
-Favorite country – Ukraine! It was so much fun working with my team on the farm, playing with the kids at the emergency shelter and rebuilding a house.
-Best food – Ciudad Refugio’s bakery in Colombia; Jack’s restaurant in Peru; Butter is Better diner in Thailand.
-Worst food – Either liver in Colombia, or soup in Peru, whether it was the weird slimy squash soup or chicken foot soup.
-Closest connection – Children’s Garden in the Philippines. I absolutely love living with the teenage guys. I enjoyed playing games, eating meals, and seeing their serving hearts. They really became my brothers and I’m so glad that will always be true.
-Hardest month – Maybe Cambodia. I enjoyed our time there but since it was month 7 of the race, the reality of going home after things have changed over the year has been hard sometimes.
-Coolest God thing – Juan discovering that God never left him and witnessing God free him of the demons present in his life.
-Most unique culture – Cambodia
-Favorite adventure – White water rafting in Ecuador
-Worst sickness – Having diarrhea and throwing up 5 times in one night in the Philippines, still don’t know why.
-Longest bus ride – 65 hours from Ecuador to Peru (we got lucky it was split into 3 bus rides).
-Most fun bathroom – An outhouse, bucket showers, and a sink we had to refill in Moldova.
-Coolest ministry – Ciudad Refugio, they feed the homeless, host church regularly for children in poverty, and have a rehab program for the drug-addicted that also teaches the gospel. Their boldness to go out into the darkest parts of Medellin and offer relief is inspiring. They are a solid organization built on the love of Jesus and the Bible.
-Felt most like home – Staying in Moldova with Larissa and Andrei.
-Best ministry day – Playing in the sand dunes with the kids in Ukraine.

–El lugar más difícil para dormir – Colombia, con las ruidosas calles de Medellín y los vagabundos que vivían en la planta baja se despertaban a las 5 de la mañana para irse, y cada mañana también sacaban coches chirriantes del edificio resonante. O Vietnam, donde nos alojamos en el quinto piso de un club en una de las ciudades más concurridas del mundo con música y bajo sin parar.
–Ciudad favorita – Pamplona, España. Toda España tiene la arquitectura más hermosa.
-País favorito – ¡Ucrania! Fue muy divertido trabajar con mi equipo en la granja, jugar con los niños en el refugio de emergencia y reconstruir una casa.
-La mejor comida – la panadería de Ciudad Refugio en Colombia; El restaurante de Jack en Perú; Butter is Better diner en Tailandia.
-La comida más peor – o hígado en Colombia, o sopa en Perú, ya sea la extraña sopa de calabaza viscosa o la sopa de pies de pollo.
-Conexión más cerrada – Jardín de niños en Filipinas. Adoro vivir con los muchachos adolescentes. Disfruté jugando, comiendo y viendo sus corazones de servicio. Realmente se convirtieron en mis hermanos y estoy tan feliz de que siempre sea verdad.
– El mes más difícil- Tal vez en Camboya. Disfruté nuestro tiempo allí, pero como era el mes 7 de la carrera, la realidad de volver a casa después de que las cosas han cambiado durante el año ha sido difícil a veces.
-El mejor obra de dios – Juan descubrió que Dios nunca lo dejó y que fue testigo de cómo Dios lo liberó de los demonios presentes en su vida.
-La mayoría de la cultura única – Camboya
-Aventura favorita – Canotaje (rafting) en Ecuador
-La peor enfermedad – tuve diarrea y vomitar 5 veces en una noche en las Filipinas, todavía no sé por qué.
-Viaje en autobús más largo – 65 horas desde Ecuador a Perú (tuvimos suerte de que se dividió en 3 viajes en autobús).
-El baño más divertido – una dependencia, duchas de cubo y un fregadero que tuvimos que rellenar en Moldavia.
– El ministerio más guay – Ciudad Refugio, dan de comer a personas sin hogar, organizan regularmente reuniones religiosas para niños en la pobreza y tienen un programa de rehabilitación para adictos a las drogas que también enseña el Evangelio. Su audacia para salir a las partes más oscuras de Medellín y ofrecer alivio es inspirador. Son una organización sólida basada en el amor de Jesús y la Biblia.
-La casa que parecía más como hogar – Alojarse en Moldavia con Larissa y Andrei.
-Día del ministerio más divertido – jugar en las dunas de arena con los niños en Ucrania
