Also, I have received a few questions about the cost of the trip. I don’t know exact numbers since I am not in charge of setting up the trip, but I do know the $17,017 will include all of my plane tickets plus a checked bag, all of my housing, groceries, public transportation, international medical insurance, and backup money for possible emergencies.
I did round up all the way to $18,000 in order to pay for 2 plane tickets ($265ea) to Atlanta Georgia. We have a training camp in June, where I will meet my team and receive more info on the 10 day trip as well as practice using my gears. I will be going to Atlanta again in August where we will all leave the country together. This extra sum of money will also be going towards my gear and supplies for the trip. We will need a tent, hiking backpack, sleeping pad and other misc. traveling materials that add up quick.
