The last 5 months I was in Asia, somewhere I never really wanted to be and got to experience God’s surprises each month with each country. 3 of the 5 countries were definitely cooler than expected, and I had air conditioning in the other 2. I enjoyed the food more than I thought I would and was able to learn a little of the languages while still speaking English to many as well as bath elephants on my birthday! My favorite group of people I’ve met on the race were in Asia too, shout out to you Children’s Garden guys. It was fun and I learned a lot. Funny how God still does amazing things even when we’re not the most supportive.
I spent this month with a new temporary team since the majority of the squad had parents come for a week to join them in ministry and see what life is like on the field. We had lots of fun prayer walking, praying for our squad and squad parents, and offering free hugs and prayer in the city.
Red Light District
I have many pictures of the Red Light District during the day in Chiang Mai. Human trafficking is a major problem in this city that isn’t hidden. Majority, if not all, of the bars, tattoo shops, massage parlors, or clubs on a specific street in Chiang Mai have rooms upstairs or a back alley to motel rooms for their business. During the day if you didn’t know, you may not notice what kind of “playground” you’re walking through until you look harder. Ways to pray for Thailand:
-For the women stuck in the human trafficking industry to know their worth, given different job opportunities, and set free from their pimps.
-For the “johns” that buy women to realize the consequences of their actions on themselves, wives, families, and the other women. For God to change their hearts and see the women as God sees them.
-For God to influence the new king and the decisions he is making.
Los últimos 5 meses estuve en Asia, en algún lugar en el que nunca quise estar y experimenté las sorpresas de Dios cada mes en cada país. 3 de los 5 países fueron definitivamente más frescos de lo esperado, y yo tenía aire acondicionado en los otros 2. Disfruté de la comida más de lo que pensé y pude aprender un poco de los idiomas mientras aún hablaba inglés a muchos y también elefantes de baño en mi cumpleaños! Pasé este mes con un nuevo equipo temporal, ya que la mayoría de los miembros del equipo tenían padres que vinieron durante una semana para unirse a ellos en el ministerio y ver cómo es la vida en el campo. Nos divertimos mucho orando caminando, rezando por nuestros escuadrones y escuadrones de padres, y ofreciendo abrazos y oraciones gratuitas en la ciudad.
Barrio rojo
Tengo muchas fotos del Barrio Rojo durante el día en Chiang Mai. La trata de personas es un problema importante en esta ciudad que no está oculto. La mayoría, si no todos, de los bares, tiendas de tatuajes, salones de masajes o clubes en una calle específica en Chiang Mai tienen habitaciones en el piso de arriba o en un callejón a las habitaciones de los hoteles para sus negocios.
