Introducing my newest and final team! Akeidah Faith. Once again Paxtyn, Lyndsee, and David are on my team along with Carly and Reece for the first time.
Akeidah (pronounced Ah•kay•dah) is the Hebrew word for binding. We decided to name our team this because we have binding faith that we aren’t going to walk away from and we are giving our lives to God just like Abraham was going to give God what he asked for even though it was difficult and he didn’t want to.
As for like in Eastern Europe, I love it! Ukraine was full of snow our first week here, and it’s still a bit chilly outside so it’s PERFECT for me 😀 We are living in a village an hour and a half drive away from Kyiv which is a beautiful city so it’s the best of both worlds.

Decidimos nombrar a nuestro equipo porque tenemos una fe vinculante de la que no vamos a alejarnos y estamos entregando nuestras vidas a Dios al igual que Abraham iba a darle a Dios lo que pedía aunque fuera difícil y no lo hizo. no quiero
En cuanto a Europa del Este, me encanta! Ucrania estuvo llena de nieve nuestra primera semana aquí, y todavía hace un poco de frío afuera, así que es PERFECTA para mí 😀 Estamos viviendo en un pueblo a una hora y media en coche de Kiev, que es una ciudad hermosa, así que es lo mejor de ambos mundos.
Jeremiah’s Hope is the name of our ministry here. The main part of the ministry is that it’s a shelter for kids in need. Most of the kids are not orphans, but may have abusive or alcoholic parents. Children are placed in the care of Jeremiah’s Hope while the government’s social services determine whether or not they can return home. Sometimes this is only a couple weeks, sometimes it’s a few years or longer. You can read more about this awesome ministry here.

La esperanza de Jeremías es el nombre de nuestro ministerio aquí. La parte principal del ministerio es que es un refugio para niños necesitados. La mayoría de los niños no son huérfanos, pero pueden tener padres abusivos o alcohólicos. Los niños son puestos al cuidado de Jeremiah’s Hope mientras que los servicios sociales del gobierno determinan si pueden regresar a casa o no. We have helped with kids camps, kids church, building a house, sorting clothes, and helping at our neighboring farm. It’s been a lot of fun, I love the area, the amazing food an older woman makes for us, and being around kids is always fun even if I don’t know the language. There’s actually 2 girls that know Spanish though so I’ve gotten to know them, who would have know!
Hemos ayudado con campamentos para niños, iglesias para niños, construyendo una casa, clasificando ropa y ayudando en nuestra granja vecina. Ha sido muy divertido, amo la zona, la comida increíble que una mujer mayor hace para nosotros, y estar rodeado de niños siempre es divertido, incluso si no conozco el idioma. En realidad, hay 2 chicas que saben español, así que las conozco, quién lo sabría!
How to pray:
-Many of the kids’ parents are alcoholics in this village, pray for them to lose this addiction and turn to God who will truly fill them up.
-For the kids to be safe when they go back home. Many are back and forth from Jeremiah’s Hope shelter and an unstable home. For the kids to also know that they are always loved and valued by God no matter how they are treated by family.
-Masha, the shelter mom for the last 2 months is only 18 years old but dearly loved by the kids. She has a lot on her hands all the time, pray for patience, rest, and time individually with God.
-Xander and the Kelly family work here full time organizing everything including late phone calls from social services. Pray for rest and the Kellys’ adoption process to be finalized with 2 of their kids.
-Muchos de los padres de los niños son alcohólicos en esta aldea, oren por ellos para que pierdan esta adicción y recurran a Dios, quien los llenará verdaderamente.
-Para que los niños estén seguros cuando vuelvan a casa. Muchos van y vienen del refugio de Jeremiah’s Hope y una casa inestable. Para que los niños también sepan que siempre son amados y valorados por Dios sin importar cómo sean tratados por la familia.
-Masha, la madre del refugio por las 2 meses pasadas, ella es solo tiene 18 años pero muy querida por los niños. Ella tiene mucho en sus manos todo el tiempo, ora por paciencia, descanso y tiempo individualmente con Dios.
