The majority of the people that live here are Muslim and believe in a similar God and life choices as Christians. In this culture everyone believes that they have to do certain things to earn God’s love and acceptance. Jesus said that we could never possibly do that, because God already loves and accepts us just as we are. Our heart is to let them know that we believe that receiving God’s love and going to heaven is a free gift. We could never do anything to earn His love, because He is our father who loves us already no matter what wrong we do. For many people here they haven’t been told that.
La mayoría de las personas que viven aquí son musulmanas y creen en un Dios similar y opciones de vida como cristianos. En esta cultura, a todos creen que tienen que hacer ciertas cosas para ganarse el amor y la aceptación de Dios. Jesús dijo que nunca podríamos hacer eso, porque Dios ya nos ama y acepta tal como somos. Nuestro corazón es hacerles saber que creemos que recibir el amor de Dios e ir al cielo es un regalo gratis. Nunca podríamos hacer nada para ganarse su amor, porque Él es nuestro padre que nos ama ya sin importar qué mal hagamos. Para muchas personas aquí no les han dicho eso.
Before you think ugh Christians are always trying to convert people and tell them what to do, just think about what I just said. I firmly believe that God is our father who loves us and wants us to know everyone personally. Jesus told the people who know this already to tell others about his free gift of love and salvation and so we are. We’re just letting people know, that’s it. The choice is always up to the person and we cannot and would not force anyone to believe that’s the truth. God gives us all a choice to love Him, because if we didn’t get to choose, it wouldn’t be love.
Antes de pensar ugh, los cristianos siempre están tratando de convertir a las personas y decirles qué hacer, solo piensen en lo que dije. Creo firmemente que Dios es nuestro padre que nos ama y quiere que conozcamos a todos personalmente. Jesús le dijo a la gente que ya lo sabía que les dijera a otros sobre su regalo de amor y salvación, y así somos. Simplemente le hacemos saber a la gente, solo eso. La elección siempre depende de la persona y no podemos ni forzaríamos a nadie a creer que esa es la verdad. Dios nos da a todos la opción de amarlo, porque si no pudiéramos elegir, no sería amor.
Imagine there’s an amazing present in front of everyone’s front door. After a while I discover mine and decide to open it. It’s the best present I’ve ever been given my whole life, and it’s something so expensive I could never possible afford it in my entire life. Now that I have this gift I just have to let everyone around me know because their gift is sitting outside just waiting for them to accept it.
Imagina que hay un presente increíble frente a la puerta principal de todos. Después de un tiempo, descubro el mío y decido abrirlo. Es el mejor regalo que me han dado en toda mi vida, y es algo tan caro que nunca podría pagarlo en toda mi vida. Ahora que tengo este regalo, tengo que dejar que todos los que me rodean lo sepan porque su obsequio está afuera esperando que lo acepten.
So that’s why we’re here, to give everyone the opportunity to say yes to a new, full life with Jesus. And if they say no then we love them and serve them anyway. None of our friends here have decided to follow Jesus since us being here and that’s okay. Like I said, we just want them to know about Jesus and show them His love through us, and I believe we have with the awesome friendships we’ve made.
Entonces, eso es por qué estamos aquí, para darles a todos la oportunidad de decir sí a una vida nueva y completa con Jesús. Y si dicen que no, entonces los amamos y se servirmos de todos modos. Ninguno de nuestros amigos aquí ha decidido seguir a Jesús desde que nosotros estamos aquí y está bien. Como dije, solo queremos que conozcan a Jesús y les muestren el amor de él a través de nosotros, y creo que lo hemos hecho con las maravillosas amistades que hemos creado.
