I heard about this missionary program through two people who’ve done it in the past. One of them is a family friend and the second is a girl who used to serve for the same ministry that I currently serve with at my home church, Eikon.
Since I was 15 years old I’ve had a love for missionary work, but the timing wasn’t right. Until now! When I heard about this organization and the values it stood for I was automatically drawn to it. I’m not sure if the Lord is calling me to be a full-time missionary, but the reason I want to go on this journey is to seek him in every possible way. I want to go on this missionary program because it will give me clarity on the plans God has for my life, or at least this season. By committing and doing The World Race I will get great exposure on the field I feel passionate about and most importantly, I will have the opportunity to go into the world and be the hands and feet of the Lord. I know He doesn’t need me to share His gospel for His work to be done, but he does want me to be a part of it and plant the seeds.
I believe God put this desire in my heart for a reason and I want to be obedient and seek Him. I believe the timing right now is perfect, I am single, young and don’t have any debt nor responsibilities. The Lord opens and closes doors and at this moment He is opening them for me, so why not take a chance and follow the path He is making for me?
