A few weeks ago, I prayed for provision. Well, I don’t know if it was a prayer, or a slightly externalized thought stream of worry, but it was heartfelt and earnest and aimed heavenwards.

(I’ll just come right out and say it – I need provision because I’M SQUAD LEADING AGAIN!

I’m currently in Malawi, in the middle of my final month on the field with N Squad. About two weeks after I get back to the US, I’ll head to the training camp of September 2015 World Race squads, one of which I’ll be co-leading.

Yes, a quick turnaround.

Yes, it’s hard.

Yes, I’m excited, and it’s exactly what the Lord has for me.

Yes and amen.)

Back to my prayer – I now stood in need.

The need for thousands of more dollars for my second season of squad leading.

The need for my current squad account to be fully funded.

The need to just trust and reach out to people for this support, since I physically don’t have the time and space to work and save for several months as I did before…

Need, need, need.

And, as a hurried addendum to my pseudo-prayer, “I even need new Teva sandals!”

Within hours of this stream of thoughts, a racer on the team I was with that week says, “Are any of you size 7 1/2 shoes?”

“…I am.”

“Cool. Do you want my Tevas?”

“What?! Why?!”

“Cause I don’t wear them, since I’ve got Keens, too. So do you want them, Erika?”

I literally teared up at this; overwhelmed at the Lord’s attentiveness to detail, and a bit shocked by the immediacy of His slap-in-the-face, “Don’t you know that I hold your world?” provison reminder.

A week later, I called my mom, who excitedly let me know that my home church pastor and mission board approved additional support to the account of my current squad. This way, I wouldn’t have to be working towards two goals at once. The crazy part about this? Their meeting and donation happened that same day I got my new Tevas; the very same day I prayed.

The Lord’s provision is so full.

When I look at the word “provision” the Latin loving homeschooler in me wants to break it down:

Pro = for, supporting. Vision = sight, direct awareness of the supernatural.

Of course the Father will meet my needs to support me spreading direct awareness of Him and His goodness. Of Jesus.

And humbly, I, again, invite YOU, to partner with me. With Him. On earth as it is in Heaven.

From my heart,

Erika
