A month ago we were given new teams. These are the teams that we would be with for the remainder of the race, the final lap. This is the part of any race where endurance matters. You have to push yourself to continue to give it everything you have, to invest in the people around you, and to love just as well as you did in the beginning. Home gets closer and closer and it gets easier to wish you were there. In month four of my race the team I was with then; Iron Life was told by one of the people at the church that teams that came to serve with them towards the end of their race were always tired and ready to be home. I decided then I didn’t want that to be my team at the end of the race.

Enter team Phili (pi), which can also be read Phili (3:14).

Philippians 3:14 I press on towards the goal, for the prize of the upward call of God in Jesus Christ

We chose this because we want to be a team that continues to press on. We want to be a team that continues to choose to invest in the people around us. I’d like to introduce you to my team, the people I have spent the past month here in Botswana with and will spent the last two months of my race with.
