What do I expect from my missions trip? I expect God to show up! I expect to see Him in amazing and supernatural ways! I have heard some really crazy stories from just about everyone I know who has ever been on a missions trip-and they are full of miracles, God honoring these people’s obedience, and really making Himself knowing to the people who are being served.
I expect to miss my husband and look for any opportunity to contact him on his deployment.
I expect to come away from this trip with a much stronger faith.
I expect to have a team full of new best friends.
I expect to have learned how to pack lightly, eat interestingly, and live fully.
I expect to miss my washing machine, dish washer, and toilet.
I know that MY life will be changed, but my prayer is that I would be a blessing to the people we are going to serve. I pray that God will use me to leave half of the impression on these people’s hearts that I know they will leave on mine. I expect to have my capacity for love multiplied-just like Jesus multiplied the bread and fish when the people needed it.
I expect to have my heart broken. I expect to learn what it really means to serve.
I expect to meet God face to face- and introduce Him to these awesome survivors we will have the pleasure of working with and serving.
I know that I am expecting a lot… but I also know that God will deliver! Praise Jesus!
