With my launch date just a week away, I have begun to look back. Back at the cities I’ve lived in, the friends I’ve made, the work I’ve done, and how it all has changed me.
For those of you who don’t know, I have been working for an amazing company called Booster for the last 3 years. This was more than just a job tho, it has played a major role in shaping my life!
I found Booster when I decided to move to RDU (Raliegh/Durham) or rather it was shown to me by my mom. Booster is an elementary fundraising company but they are so much more than that! They are world-changing people, an organization that invests in leader development and genuinely cares for their school partners, and some of my closest friends! (One of these friends was the one who introduced me to AIM and the World Race.)
I spent my first year and a half working in RDU, growing as a leader, and making some amazing friends. However, I may have started at Booster because I was moving but because of Booster, I moved again. This time I headed to the NC coast, to a city called Wilmington. Wilmington was the land of opportunity for me! It forced me to grow in so many ways.
I was now the leader of a Satelite Market, meaning my bosses were still in RDU (over 2 hours away). This meant I had to take on several new responsibilities! Including helping to manage my team’s schedule, taking care of inventory and equipment, and problem-solving on a larger scale.
Booster has also given me so many amazing oppurtunities! From traveling to NY and Cancun to going on my first cruise, from serving the city of Wilmington after Hurricane Florence decimated the area to getting to serve my mother’s school. They have given me some of the best experiences of my life!
Then about 3 weeks ago I had my final day at Booster, packed my Wilmington apartment, and move back home (Greenville, SC).
And I have had the surreal opportunity to see my friends and the company gearing up for another year and not being part of it.
Knowing that the world change I have been a part of for the past 3 years is being put into someone else’s hands to continue.
And knowing that this, this time in my life. It’s the end of an era!
