Well hello everyone!

I’m glad you are following me along this journey. I thought I would just post a little about myself for my fellow teammates, and also for anyone who is going to support me in any way during this adventure that God is calling me to. So I’ll just start with the basics!

My name is Eric Musil, I’m 26 years old and I grew up in Ogden, Utah. I have an incredible family. My mom and my dad have been two of the biggest blessings in my life, and oh my little brother is pretty cool too. I also have two older half-sisters, it’s even weird to me to type out half-sisters because we are so close. I have just known them as my sisters my whole life. Though my family is a little crazy and goofy, they have always been there for me and my biggest supporters. I cannot thank God enough for each and every one of them and for placing me in this incredible family.

My whole life I have been heavily involved in volunteering and serving. From helping out at churches from week to week, to playing/singing at nursing homes and community options centers, to going on missions trips. My family played a big role in that as well and I was definitely raised by parents who have a servants heart.

I found my foundation in Christ very early as a child due to my family and church family. I remember asking God into my heart when I was around 7 in a car ride home from church one evening, I didn’t realize it then, but that was the first time I felt God’s presence. From then on I was still heavily involved in church, but did not have a thriving relationship with Christ until I was older. I struggled with bad friends and some addictions in my early teens and got into some trouble and got caught in the middle of my sin. After that I remember feeling so far from God and full of so much anger. But God met me in the middle of my mess, and showed me that He was always there all along. When I gave my life fully to Christ at 15, everything was different. God’s Word tells us that we are a new creation when we come to know Him, and even my friends noticed that I was changed after I gave my life to Christ. From that point until now, It has just been my hearts desire to know God more. That desire has led me (and is still leading me) to experience life and life to the full!

After that life changing moment with God at the age of 15, God has called me to do some amazing things. Shortly after graduating High School, I felt God calling me into ministry. I started to intern with my youth pastor, and after a couple years of interning and online schooling, I was almost ready to have my ministerial credentials. I came to Cedaredge Colorado in early 2011 to work at Camp Cedaredge. Camp Cedaredge is where we went for youth camp every year as a church. It’s a place where God touched my life countless times. During that first year at Camp Cedaredge, a local pastor asked me to start working for the church as a part-time youth pastor, and I was speechless. After some time in prayer, I accepted and have been serving that church for almost 5 years now as their youth pastor. I also have been heavily involved in the local Young Life Club for about 3 years now.

Being here in Colorado, my eyes have been opened to the wonders of the outdoors! I have loved all the fishing, hiking, hunting, and incredible views I get to see every day.

God has taken me on an incredible journey so far and I am so excited for this next step with the World Race. I have had a heart for missions for a long time. Ever since my first missions trip to Mexico in 2008, God has been slowly calling my heart toward missions. These past 5 years in ministry have been the most incredible times in my life, and I know God is using and has used these friendships, experiences, and ministries to prepare me for what’s next. Thank you so much for supporting me, whether that be in prayer or financially, I am forever grateful. I know God is going to use this squad that I will be a part of to reach people who are in need. To show them the light of Jesus in these dark places. Please stay in prayer as we prepare for this journey and that the Holy Spirit would lead us to where we need to me. Thank you so much and stay tuned for more!
