We made it! There was 3 days of travel to get our group of 40 to Byron Bay, Australia. Lets just say I have mastered the art of sleeping on a plane. The travel was not my favorite but we made the best of it and got to see some pretty cool airports.

On arrival a couple of great guys from the YWAM base here picked us up to take us to the place we will be staying. A local church is housing all 40 of us and allowing us to sleep in the church and use their facilities. After a few days of acclimating to our surroundings we have jumped right in with trying to meet the people and do things for this awesome community. This month there is no specific work that we have to do which makes it extra fun but also a little challenging as well. Staying intentional on why we are here can be tricky with a place like this. Australia is americanized and with its beauty it can feel like you are just on a great vacation. Our leadership team here is great on reminding and also modeling to us how to nagivate this.

At the end of this week we will be splitting our squad up into two groups. One group will stay in Byron Bay and the other will go to a neighboring town. It will be great to broaden the area we are able to connect with.

So far I feel like our squad is only getting stronger in the bonds and relationships we are growing. It has been great getting to know these 40 people I get to call family better.

On another note although Australia is americanized their wifi is not. We struggle to find wifi and when we do it is not typically the best. Therefore updating my blog hasn’t been the easiest. I promise to try and stay on top of updating this once a week.

So I am alive and well just on the other side of the world! ?? Check out some pictures of this beautiful place!
