From the moment we arrived to the moment that we left, we were constantly blessed by our host family and the people of Moldova.

Our host Mihail was a first time contact for the WorldRace. He is a pastor in a church in Singerei where he isn’t paid He ate with us at every meal and most of the time his family joined us. They prepared the most delicious food for us and… We laughed with them and played charades when the language barrier was to much. He wanted us to “eat good!” Our sabbath was on Monday but every Friday he would take us to the best tourist spots around Singerei. I could go on and on about how much he constantly gave to us and poured into our team. When we left I felt like there was nothing I could give them that would be equal to the amount of love they gave to us.

One of the first things that God blessed us with in Moldova was the place that we were staying. Our home for the month was a camp. We had real toilets, real showers and comfortable beds. The camp had a pool with a water-slide, a zip-line, a trampoline, and tons of space.

During the week we worked around the camp. We scraped soviet union paint off of a bathhouse, and painted a fence, doors and window frames.

Before

After

On Saturdays the local children from Mihail’s church came to where we were staying. We spent a couple of hours in the afternoon acting out bible stories and playing games with them. Our Sundays were very full. In the morning we would go to Mihail’s church. We sang a song and then one person from our team would share their testimony. After the church service we quickly ate lunch and then traveled 40k to a small village to play with children from another church. We would then travel back to Mihail’s church for a night service.

We took two days to visit schools in Singerei. We told them a little about America and then we answered any questions that they had.

Mihail took us all around Singerei and we would spend time with some of the people that lived there. Their hospitality blew me away. I couldn’t believe the fact that we only knew these people for a small amount of time and they were so willing to give us all that they could.

Just some of the things that were given to us:

“i love moldova” t-shirts

winter coats

warm shoes

walnuts

jelly

honey

goat’s milk

cow’s milk

warm pastries for our travel day

clothes and shoes
