Dear Family and Friends,
I pray that this letter finds you and your family doing well and I hope that God is doing as many wonderful things in your life as He is in mine. The purpose of this letter is to share with you an exciting opportunity that God has placed before me. Some of you may know that in October 2012 I moved back to home town of Byron Center, Michigan after 3 years of going to school and working in Los Angeles. During all of the time I spent in LA and back at home I've thought and prayed about God's will for my life. And I believe that now God is calling me to serve as a missionary through an organization, Adventures in Missions, in their World Race program. From January to December 2014 I will be going to 11 different countries in 11 months: South Africa, Mozambique,Swaziland, India, Nepal, Malaysia, Vietnam, Cambodia, Ireland, Ukraine, and Romania. I will be part of a team that will be reaching out and spreading the gospel to the people of those countries while also learning more about their cultures.
God has opened up a door for me to develop a greater heart of compassion for His people around the world and I would love for you to be a part of my support team. First, you can help support my team and myself in prayer as we prepare for our trip, our travel, and safety in our work and that our ministry will be productive.
Another way you can be involved is to help provide financial support. At this time I need to raise $15,500 to attend this trip, and that is quite a challenge! "The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor. They will rebuild the ancient ruins and restore the places long devastated; they will renew the ruined cities that have been devastated for generations."
