 WHY AM I BECOMING A MISSIONARY ?

A close friend asked me a couple of weeks ago WHY ARE YOU GOING ON THIS MISSIONARY TRIP? I told him I’m going because I like helping people, traveling and I want to grow in my relationship with GOD. He said I understand those generic reasons but Why are You Really Going on this Missionary trip?  I instantly was upset with him when he questioned me after I had given him three reasons why I was going. After pondering the question a little longer, I realized it was not my friend asking me the question but it was GOD asking me the question.  GOD did not want three generic reasons; he wanted Erica’s reasons for going on the trip. After a couple weeks of revelations in my life, I’ve realized why I am going on this trip. Below are my reasons for going on the World Race.

1. Fall in Love with JESUS

I love JESUS but I am not in love with JESUS and I know this missionary trip will change that.
JESUS will probably think I’m stalking HIM after this trip ha ha

2. Allow GOD to reveal the next step in my life 

 I have been praying for a while now for GOD to reveal the “Next” Step in my Life. The missionary trip is the Next Step in My Life and I can’t wait to see that unfold and all the other revelations that will happen this year.

3. BE Stretched    

I have not been stretched a lot lately in my life and therefore have become stagnant and I am not growing as much as I should. This missionary trip will definitely stretch me (I have only put up a tent once and that was in the REI store with the help from a friend).  

4. ANSWERING GOD’S CALLING FOR MY LIFE

I learned the hard way when GOD calls you and tells you this is the plan He has for your life, don’t argue.  I argued with GOD and told him HE had the wrong plan for my life… the right plan was for me to move to California. However I am glad GOD’s ways are higher than my ways and I didn’t move to California. I feel HONORED that HE called me to travel the world and tell the wonderful news of CHRIST’S LOVE and gift of salvation.
 
I WANT TO THANK MY FRIENDS, FAMILY AND CHURCH FOR THEIR PRAYERS AND FINANCIAL DONATIONS FOR THIS MISSIONARY TRIP. AMAZINGLY IN LESS THAN  2 MONTHS, MY CHURCH, FRIENDS,  FAMILY AND PEOPLE I DON’T EVEN KNOW HAVE DONATED $6,910. I ONLY NEED $6,890  MORE TO MEET THE $13,800 GOAL. GOD IS TRULY AMAZING !!!!!
