I’M IN LOVE

I am so in love…. I have the giddy smile and butterflies in my stomach that happen when you fall in love.

I have fallen in love with GOD and HIS wonderful creation. I have fallen in love with the GOD whose arms are always open. I have fallen in love with the GOD who shows his love to each and every one of us individually.   He has been romancing me with his beautiful stars, amazing waterfalls that cascade into the bluest of blue water. GOD has been serenading me with sweet songs of worship and blessing me with bold vividly colored dreams. Everyday I wake up and look outside at the luscious green palm trees and I feel GOD’s love. I have felt HIS presence in a way I didn’t even know was possible. GOD has allowed amazing things to happen in my life and my teammates lives this month.

This month GOD has opened my eyes to what childlike faith really is… its been so refreshing being around kids who sing, pray and dance for Jesus with no inhibitions. I noticed when kids praise GOD they don’t care who looks at them or what they look like while they worship. As a matter of fact they try to out worship each other and show GOD they love him more than the kid next to him. Part of our ministry this month was running a Vacation Bible School for kids’ ages 5-11. Our theme was Superheroes of the Bible.. The kids loved the stories, songs, arts and crafts about Mary, Jesus, Abraham, Daniel and Moses. We “the adults” listened to the Bible stories and watched the Bible story skits with eyes wide open and were reminded of God’s love and the encouraged by the faithfulness of the superheroes in the Bible.

GOD opened my eyes to the power of prayer this month… I have had the awesome opportunity to pray for and with kids, adults, Christians, non-Christians, teammates and even a police officer. I had the opportunity to be present and pray with people who accepted Jesus Christ as their personal savior for the first time (that honor can not even be put into words) .One of the highest moments of the ministry occurred while I was sitting in a doctor’s office. I had been sick for about a week and my teammates pushed me to go to the doctor. I really didn’t want to go. We arrived at the doctor’s office and it was full of people. After I finished reading the novel “The Shack” (which I highly recommend everyone should read) I looked around to see the waiting room still full of people. I thought what am I going to do while I wait for the Doctor and GOD laid it on my heart to pray for each person in the waiting room. GOD revealed intimate details of each person’s life so that I could pray for exactly what they needed. I prayed silently for each person. It was an amazing experience just knowing GOD was using me to positively affect other people’s lives without ever speaking a word to them and it was at that moment I realized the true power of prayer. I thoroughly understood at that moment that Prayer Does Change Things even in the lives of people you do not know. I learned that if we allow it, GOD can use common occurrences like going to the doctor’s office to change us and the lives of other people.

GOD thank you for using my team and me and romancing each and every one of us in a different way this month.
I will post pictures as soon as I can
