Dear Family & Friends,
Perhaps you already know but, undoubtedly, many of you have not heard the news. In September, I will be answering God’s call to serve and lead a mission trip called The World Race.
For me, the call to serve on The World Race came after many months of searching to find where God wanted me after I graduated from cosmetology school. In October of 2011 I left for my World Race journey and month 8 I realized I had a calling to lead a squad. Not knowing how or when I just put it on the back burner but when the opportunity arose again I went after it, allowed the Lord to lead every step and I was accepted to be a squad leader in September 2014…two years later! After spending much time in prayer and consideration, I decided that leading a World Race squad was where God wanted me.
Where am I going and what will I be doing? The World Race is an 11 month mission trip, to 11 different countries. My journey as a squad leader will only be 5 months. As of right now I haven’t been placed on a squad so I’m not sure of what countries I will be going to be but I will leave the beginning of September and come back in January. In April & July I will travel to the country my squad is in and debrief with them for about two weeks. As I travel I will be with a two other squad leaders, serving God in any way our contacts from each country sees the need alongside of our squad. As a squad leader my main focus will be the 50-75 people I will be leading, I will be there to assist them physically, spiritually, & mentally. I will walk with them through their journey as not only a leader but as a friend and a mentor.
The greatest logistical concern and task I will face is financial. I am raising my own financial support for my journey. In the midst of this economic landscape, it appears to be the wrong time to be raising money. However, I trust God has a plan and is more powerful than the obstacle of raising money. I must raise $7,000 in order to participate in this mission trip. I am therefore asking, if you are able to join with me financially on this journey, you will do so.
This will be out of my comfort zone but without a shadow of a doubt I know that this is where God is leading me. He will equip me and use me to change people’s lives and I can’t ask for a better opportunity. Please be praying for my squad as they start a journey of a lifetime and be praying for me to be a leader of integrity, honor, and truth. I know this journey will shape me into the woman of God I was made to be and this is only another stepping stone to my full destiny!
