Just before we left the orphans circled around us and asked to pray for us. Then they took each of our pictures so they could continue to pray for us. Obviously, I cried, a lot. You always think about ministering to orphans and praying over them, but these kids were so loving and kind and thoughtful and genuinely wanted to pray for us. It was just beautiful. God is teaching me so much about how I deserve nothing yet He keeps lavishing gifts upon me. I love it.
That night we went to Teen Challenge and I got chosen to give the talk (hopefully we’ll figure out how to get the video downloaded onto the computer so I can upload my talk). Basically I talked about my testimony and my life verse (2 Corinthians 4:16-18) and about how Christianity is not an easy life, despite the lies people tell. Being a Christian is not about being perfect, and it SURE isn’t about comfort. It is about fighting, for God, no matter the cost. But it is all worth it. And when times get hard (which they will) we need to remember to “… not lose heart, though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. And our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, for what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. 2 Cor. 4:16-18

To reward us for our hard day of work some friends bought us a TON OF MEAT and tried to barbeque it for us…. Buuuut San Salvador coals aren’t the best and it took over an hour of matches, skills and a fan to get it working. It was so worth it though
