As I am writing this blog, I am sitting on the inside of the place we are staying and feeling so blessed to be here and a part of this ministry here in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. As stated in a previous blog, we are staying together as a squad this month and it has given me the opportunity to really figure out what's going on in my heart lately.
The ministry that we are partnering with here in Honduras is incredible and is ran by a man named Tony and his wife, along with other missionaries who came here at some point and loved what was happening. It's a ministry that disciples street boys who get involved in the wrong things, but also works with different organizations throughout Tegucigalpa which we haven't been able to visit yet but it's on the schedule. The vision is to expand and to become a place of security and to show God's love when nobody else will show them love. So I am excited for the next few weeks and to develop relationships with not only these boys, who are so sweet and try so hard may I add, but with the places we are headed to work.
To get an idea of what we are doing, here's our tentative schedule:
Monday through Wednesday – We divide up into our teams and do various projects throughout the ground to better everything.
Thursday – We head out at to go to an organization called Infa that works with 3 babies who are mentally disabled, street girls, and girls who are from the dumps.
Friday – Take it to the streets day! We act like fools in a busy section of Tegucigalpa and let people know the love of the Father.
Saturday – We go into interesting places to play soccer with some people who have become a part of the wrong group. Should be interesting.
Sunday – It's our day to rest, sleep in, read, spend some extra quiet time, etc.
It's going to be a busy month, but I'm so excited to see the fruits of the ministry and how much we get accomplished and how we can bless Tony and what he's doing here in Tegucigalpa. His heart is golden and I can't wait to see how this organization impacts these kids and others.
As for me, I am doing well! I have had a few stomach issues, but nothing too major. The Lord is working in me so much, which I will elaborate on later, but for now, this is what month one looks like!
Blessings and love to you all! xoxox
