Ever since before the race, there has been this known desire in me to not settle and to bring the people around me into that mindset. To not settle for just knowing Jesus, but to desire him and to love him in the way he loves us – unconditionally. Not to settle for a job just because it is offered. Not to settle for a way of being just because it’s who you’ve been all along and there’s nothing that’s going to change you.
I have always had a heart for discipling others, but going on the World Race only fueled my fire to disciple others even more. My goal is to pour into people the way I have been poured into during my years of following the Lord and show them who they really are in the Lord. This requires me to step forward as a leader to lead those in my generation and the generation of those to come!
With that being said, I have been given the opportunity to hone in on these leadership skills and take a chance to be discipled for a little while longer myself.
Therefore, in January of 2014, I am planning to move to Gainesville, GA start a 4-month discipleship training program called CGA (Center for Global Action) at Adventures in Missions, the organization who runs The World Race.
I will be going for the field leadership track to further my calling. I will be doing an apprenticeship at the AIM base in the mornings during the week, and in the evenings I will be learning more about leadership, gaining biblical knowledge, and spending time being mentored by “those who have gone before me.” I will also be living in community again with fellow racers!
There are so many things I know I have to offer, but the idea of me going to this is to be able to offer even more to those who I end up discipling and I know CGA will get me where I need to be!
My goal for after this is to squad lead for the World Race next July, Lord willing. That is truly where my heart is for this next season, and going to CGA will help me gain the skills necessary for leading a squad when the timing is right.
With all this comes a price of course — and I need the help of my supporters and my friends because I literally can’t do this by myself. If I could, I would, trust me! To go to CGA for four months, I need $2400 ($600/month). This covers my training costs, housing, and food for the 4 months.
So I’m asking you to invest in me.
Invest in me, so I can invest in others for the Kingdom!
