First and for most, Thank you to all who’ve have prayed and supported me. Right now I’m currently in Beira, Mozambique.
On Jan 27 it was be day 16. I wake up in the morning reminding myself, “You’re sweaty because there in no a/c”, “Your bed in on the floor”, “That roaster is crowing and it’s only 04:30” “Do I need to go get water?” “Hey the itching bug bites have stopped” All this makes me smile. We took a shuttle bus for 8 hrs to shortly get on a”bed bus” for 21 hrs to our ministry site. As we stepped off the bus a crowd of kids greeted us and were eager
to help unload and reload our 45 lbs bags. Day to day has it’s normal routine. We run water from a well and fill up buckets. We do this about 2-3 times a day. The boys at the orphanage all have a scheduled rotation of chores. Some cook meals, others herding goats or cows, some are on projects around Kedash, and the other boys work on building/restoring homes for widows. As I find my place to work beside them, I’m blown away good the chemistry is in the boys. from the youngest probably 5 yrs old to the oldest around 17-18 yrs old they l find ok after one another.
They are quick to find a way to help the other with their task. It’s their summer break and yet the are quick to ask for English lessons. We try to find middle ground to communicate. Some of the boys are really good speaking English like Luca, Manuelie , and Blondie. Others like Tome and Armando try to be slick getting their English lessons in by either sitting close and over hearing or asking for help with a chore that I am obviously clueless in. I’m still trying to to put into word the love, joy, and happiness in the eyes of these souls.
I think my team would agree that through the days can be hot, exhausting, and sometimes challenging we find purpose and place in these moment God has blessed us to be a part of. All the time traveling as a team together, sharing with one another and growing closer reinforces what God has been saying. the words that repeat, “everyone is exactly where they need to be.”
On a side note, I still need a little over $3,000 to be fully funded to continue until November. It’s not too late the donate some more.
