I begin where most good stories begin, in the middle. After all, this is where I am and it is about me. This blog is an attempt to offer every a chance to join me journey as I prepare to follow my calling to serve the least and love those that Jesus die for but have fallen through the cracks of the developed 21st century.

My name is Eric Salgado. I have friends. I have a family. I have a good job. I have good credit. I have the world within my grasp. I have no say it. I grew up in church all my life. I knew every story and understood what was said on Sunday mornings. Yet, it wasn’t until a couple of months ago that everything came to light. After not being in church for years, I went with a friend. During all the music, I saw myself lying on the floor and a man giving me CPR. I had life breathed back into my lungs. Over the next few week, I felt as if I had just woke up from a dream. During a pray session I saw God show me how my life had all been lead up to serve others. I knew that I was to go on a mission trip. I didn’t know where to start and I didn’t know who to talk to. As I asked around some churches weren’t doing mission trips, others only offered missions for a week or so. I knew that I was called to something more relational than a week long. I ask my church 12 Stone about how to get involved in bigger missions. Mr Michael Winfield listen to my desire and told me that the World Race sounded like something to look into. When I read the Why on the home page

“There is a generation of radicals whose heartbeat is to see a changed world. It’s a generation that’s dissatisfied with the status quo and is actively rising to the challenge of seeing the world transformed through tangible expressions of God’s love. World Racers are seeing lives changed in nations all over the world.”

I knew that this was something big. This is what I was looking for. So here I am. There’s more that lead to this and there is more after I applied but you’ll have to stay tune to hear that part of the story.
