Their is something soothing about lying in a hammock with a cool mountain breeze complimenting the fresh hot air.  Thier is something not so soothing with all kinds of animals fighting for survival right outside your house.  I suppose they cancel eachother out.  In Alguilar, there is 11 americans that struggle to find where to put trash.  They struggle with finding any type of consistancy at all.  They struggle with what to do with 40 tortillas everyday, they struggle with what ministry looks like with no real communication.  They struggle with clogging up the toilet, both of them at the same time.  What to do with the poo water all over the floor?  But struggles create strength.  We eventually found out what do with our trash.  Burn it.  All of it.  They find out what to do with tortillas.  They are the foundation of a great crispy corn chip.  Ministry without talking, sure!  Hugging and smiles need little talking.  And poo water? Well, that was just gross.

For now we are 11 americans who aim to show people, these kids mostly, to look beyond themselves and beyond us.  We hope they see our faith most of all.  We come as men and women of integrity into a land full of beauty.  What a marvelous combination.
