Working in Moldova

This past week has been rather interesting. We arrived in
Moldova last weekend and then on Monday we headed out for our ministry for the
week. That was a last minute change we found out about over the weekend that we
were going to be in two different places over the next two weeks.  It really has been a blessing working
with our contacts here.

 

Our contacts here had a camp going on this week that they
have been blessed to hold at the local school here in the village for several
years now. We jumped right in and helped in whatever way we could. Our day
usually started with songs and then off to lessons and a Bible study class for
some of the older English speaking kids.

 

After that we would take them to the gym for games and
sports. It was pretty funny trying to come up with different games for them
each day. Luckily my teammates now plenty and so it worked out well. During
games there was also a class for about what the Bible says about sex for some
of the older teens. After games we split up into two groups for an English
class and an origami class and. By the end of the day the last thing was for
one of us to share our testimony or give a message, followed by snacks to end
the day.

 

That is what our mornings consisted of and after which we
would have lunch and then head to homes of elderly people whose spouses died or
had no one to help care for them. One day we met this nice elderly couple that
had no children to help them. The girls worked in their garden and tilled the
yard. Brain and I went and chopped wood for them to cook and stay warm with.

 

We also got to go to a widow’s house and help till her yard
for her as well. So every day we have been going from one place to another. Now
we are doing the same as we are heading for our next ministry location. We
don’t know what we will be doing when we get there yet. Please be praying for
us as we head out for and into our next ministry.
