Three days on a bus is like three days in a tomb. Why? Because it is a
miracle I am alive. lol We left out of Kitale On Tuesday morning for
Nairobi, originally scheduled to leave at like 8 or so we left just
after 9 a.m. It was an alright drive that lasted about 8 hours or so. We
spent the night in Nairobi at a backpackers inn then we WERE scheduled
to leave at 6 in the morning on Wednesday. I say that because the bus
didn’t show til almost 8 and it gave us a chance to eat some breakfast,
God knew we were going to need it. After a few hours of travel we
stopped on the side of the road in the middle of no where for a bathroom
break, on what seemed to be the worlds longest dirt road. Then around
noon or so we made it to the Tanzanian border and were told it would
only take about 15 minutes….An hour and a half later we were back on
the road. we didn’t stop again til 7 that night for, again, a bathroom
break on the side of the road for about 5 minutes.

We finally stopped for food an hour later just after 8 in the evening
and were given 15 minutes for that. We reached our destination for the
evening at around 2:30 in the morning. Thus making it around an 18 hour
day or so. We stopped at a hotel for a few hours long enough to change
and shower because we needed to leave for the bus station at 5 a.m. We
were on the 7:30 bus but didn’t leave til almost 9. It was an alright
trip this day as we got to see some wild life as we were driving  like
literally off to the side of the road there were giraffe, elephant and
later we saw baboon. It was turning out to be a little better than the
day before and then next thing I know SMACK!!! The over head storage
rack, that had people’s belongings in it hit me in the head. No one else
got hit just me. Praise God. It would seem that my head was keeping it
from hitting anyone else.  Then I had some people yelling “Don’t let my
stuff go out the window!”

So there I am, rack on my head, trying to keep people’s bags from going
out the window.  I was and am ok, other than a small lump and a head
ache that is. lol Still trying to figure out what God was trying to
teach me through that one. lol So, after all was said and done WE MADE
IT!!!! Making for a grand total of around 34 hours of travel over three
days. We met up with our contact upon arriving here in Iringa and were
given a brief over view over what some of our ministry will look like,
primarily on Sundays. Are you ready for this?

Sunday morning 7:30 begin the first church service (in English). We are
to have a few songs prepared and a preacher to speak for about an hour
or so. Then at 9:30 same thing but different speaker and this service
will be for a native Swahili speaking audience. Then we break for lunch
and then…..you guessed it….we head into town for street evangelism.
After that we will be doing door to door evangelism. Then to close it
all out we head back to the church for prayer and then head in for the
night out around 6 in the evening.

We talked about it between our team and the other team we are staying
with for the month and for the first service one of the girls from the
other team will be speaking. Then for the second service none other than
yours truly. and Jon will be heading up the street evangelism. Be
praying for us as it is rather last minute and we need to have something
ready to say in the morning. It is going to be a long day so keep us in
your prayers. I want to ask for your prayers over a few things as we
all are still in need of support and are now past the deadline for that.
I myself still have around 1,600 dollars left til I am fully supported.
If you can help please do and pray that we all get fully supported
soon. Another request, if it is not to much to ask, is that I would ask
you all to be praying for my Dad (Ed), sister’s (Emma and Eden) and one
of my brother’s (Elliott) as they are going through the process of
figuring things out, since Fran’s passing to be with the Lord. Praise
God. May the Lord lead you and reveal himself to you in new and
marvelous ways. Thank you all, God bless.
