We were asked to write a blog about how we were called to this mission trip. Here is my story…

It was February 2008 and this particular day was one of great significance. It was Sunday and our pastor was giving a sermon on missions. He talked about how bad it is in other countries and told us about Jesus’ own words like “‘For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothes me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’……’I tell you the truth whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers you did for me.'” Matt. 25:35-36; 40. He then showed us a map of the world with a highlighted section called the 10/40 Window. It covers roughly two-thirds of the world’s population. The countries in the 10/40 window are those of which that face some of the highest levels of social and economic challenges. Many governments in the “window” are either formally or informally opposed to Christian work of any kind within their borders. After hearing this I knew that I needed to do something. I spoke with my pastor after church that day and he asked me “Well, where do you want to go?” I said “I don’t know, I just know that I wanna do something!” Well upon further discussion I decided to go on a trip that our church was planning. We left several months later for the Navajo Indian reservation in Arizona.

It was awesome!!! I didn’t know what t expect but what I got was more than I ever could have bargained for. I know that the Lord has called me to this awesome field of ministry. Recently I was approached by my family about the World Race. They showed me the website and some information about what it is that they offer. I knew instantly that I wanted to go. I look forward to see how God will use me in His ministry and in His world.
