We have been in Romania for just over a week now and started our ministry. They have given us a pretty busy schedule and it has been really cool so far. This month’s ministry is definitely different than any ministry we have done before. So basically for four to five days a week we go to a hospital and to hand out fliers.  On Saturday’s and Fridays we have a children’s program for a few hours and Sunday church.

We also go out to a local hospital and visit the patients there early in the morning. We just go and talk with different patients and just spend time with them and try to get to know them. They only allow a few of us to go at a time so not all of us have been yet. Later we go around to different parks inviting kids to church for the program on Friday’s and Saturday’s. On each invitation there are directions to the church and a piece of candy. Oh, and by the way, while we are handing them out,……… we are dressed as CLOWNS!!!!! I am talking wig clothes, balloon animals, and I found that Beth and Brain know how to juggle oo which just makes it cooler.

We literally had one kid run up as if it were the coolest thing ever, which is basically what he was saying in Romanian. We don’t do the make-up but just about everything else so that the kids get excited and come. It has been really funny to see the looks on people’s faces when they see us walking down the street. When I first saw myself I thought I was gonna end up scaring more kids than I have. I mean clowns are known for being scary to some people but then you put someone who looks like me in a clowns suit and well, lets just say I have been pleasantly surprised is all.

I mean if I were a kid and saw a 200 pound 6 foot guy, with a big dark red beard, glasses, rainbow colored hair, and weird looking clothes, I’d be a little freaked out. But most kids have reacted rather well. So twice a day we head out all dressed up and hand out these fliers/invitations. This past Friday and Saturday was our first go around to see how many actually turned up.

Both days we had a few kids there at the church. We sang songs and played games and on Saturday we had a bible lesson. Fridays are to be just for fun and Saturdays we incorporate a message. Most of the kids that were there on Friday were there on Saturday as well. It’s kinda funny to think about how ridiculous I must look but the kids don’t really care, they just want to play and have fun.

So after this past week of ministry looking back and assessing the damages I have one cut up arm and a blacked toe from making myself fall to get the kids laughing, two really sore legs from jumping up and down repeatedly with the kids, a crick in my neck from having kids hang off of me, and a willing spirit to get up and doing all over again next week. In spite of my current physical hurts it has been well worth it after seeing the look in the faces of those kids. I say praise God for this past week and for this ministry we have been asked to do. I found out that the church we are working with only does stuff like this about once a year, but they want to start doing it more regularly.

As we are drawing nearer to coming back home there is a lot that is and has been coming to mind. I pray that the lord help me to process everything that has happened this year and give me strength for the road ahead. I thank you all for your continued prayers and support and I am pleased to say that I have only $170 left til I am fully supported!!! Praise GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I also want to put the word out for my cousin Dana Konick who will be going on The World Race: Human Trafficking Edition!!! She is awesome and I am so excited for her so please keep her in your prayers as well. Here is a link to her blog page: http://danakonick.theworldrace.org/

Thank you all again for everything. Thank you God for this opportunity to serve you Lord. Please keep my loved ones back home, my team and myself in your prayers. May the Lord bless you and watch over you.
