After being elected “race captain” by his teammates, Eric made good use of a missionary friend in southern Mexico. This contact provided him with inside information on bus routes, which may be a huge advantage during this race.
When the bus arrived at the starting line of the race yesterday, Eric and his teammate Kelly took off running toward the bus station immediately, leaving the other teams standing in the dust. They hoped to purchase bus tickets they had put on hold the day before and leave Reynosa before the other teams even knew what happened.
