Z Squad has arrived to Malawi! It has been very long travel days, constant search for water, and finding decent places to catch some sleep. In the end we have officially arrived in Malawi?.but still trying to get to our ministry sites in Zambia.

Currently we are tent camping at a hostel that is pretty nice. Between the 5 showers, outdoor pool, and covered porches it is a nice place to catch up on sleep. We arrived here on Saturday and that is racers ?free? day and Z squad decided to chill at the hostel. It was a much needed break to just settle for at least one afternoon, change clothes, and take a shower. Luckily the hostel has a small kitchen/dining area so we have officially eaten our first dinner consistent of rice and beans! Solid meal to start our time here in Africa.

There has been some challenges since arriving and the first one that hit as all was the heat! At 1 pm we were all setting up our tents trying to get comfy and the sun was beaming down. Most of us were slightly over dressed for the weather from all the travel and that didn’t make it any better. The upside was having the pool to dip our feet in and cool off some. Only 2 people were willing to jump in and fully enjoy the pool?.and I wasn’t one of them. Knowing it is Malawi rainy season and not knowing how long we would be here the thought of getting clothes soaked just wasn’t high on my priority list.

Then we all seem to have met the nice tiny African ants! They get into everything! To me at least they haven?t proven to be violent which is a great thing since I woke up this morning to literally hundreds of them checking out my day pack on some loose clothes. After 20 mins or so of shaking out my clothes and smashing them?.everything is back in order.

Last but certainly not least, and who knows there could be others but rain has become a challenge. I have kept a dry tent and belongings but others haven?t been so fortunate as the rain poured down all afternoon and evening. Did I mention its Malawi rainy season? If not, it is.

Everyone is finding the pleasures and challenges of Malawi in their own ways!

As of Saturday night we were waiting to hear about the bus situation to get us to our ministry sites in Zambia. Before going to bed we were told we either will be having to pack up and be ready by 4am or we would get to sleep in and figure it out in the morning. Needless to say we got to sleep in and still waiting to hear new travel plans.

Please be praying for Z squad as we figure out local logistics in getting to our ministry sites! Everyone is beyond eager to get their and continue to pour into this community. Also pray for everyone as we face the different challenges os Malawi to varying degrees.
