Debrief #2 central theme has been all about “change.” Mostly change in teams. Change is good, promotes growth and new possibilities. And now I am officially over a third of the way done with the World Race, creates a great platform for change. I have been through different ministries, team times, feedback sessions, etc and sort of know the “ropes” so to speak of what the World Race is.
Here is an overview of what the race has been for me personally up to this point. The major themes that God has instilled in me.
Month 1 in Zambia = Identity. God stripped off the titles and set me in the middle of Zambia to begin to discover who I am in Christ. Once my office title, college degrees, and appointed leadership roles were removed and I was placed in GP (general population) of the race created the space for God to move in this area. To seek Him first. To be attuned to how He desires to use my skills to build His Kingdom. Thankful for the lessons learned and what is going to be revealed throughout the remainder of the race and the rest of my life.
Month 2 in Malawi = Rest. Rest in the presence of God. Take time everyday to be with the Creator of the universe! Talking and listening to God and engaging in that relationship is the best way to spend everyday. That I don’t need to be busy to feel useful. It’s not about what I personally accomplish but rather doing the will of the Father. Realizing that every facet of my day is doing ministry, whether it be to myself, to my teammates, to my squad mates, to our assigned ministry or the people I meet in between. Seizing the opportunity to ask God where He is working and how can I be used.
Month 3 in Estonia = Internal Sin. Bringing light to internal struggles! Exposing lies and allow others to speak truth. Take a chance in sharing something that you normally wouldn’t with someone and watch how God blesses the obedience. To help promote growth in your life, you have to be willingly to open up and let others in.
Month 4 in Estonia = Significance in the Body. This is kind of a blend between month 1 and 3. Finding identity in Christ and breaking free of lies that were holding me back. To cast out all thoughts of not being significant. How important every part of the body of Christ and your community is to your personal growth. That everyone has a role to play and fully embracing who you are is the best thing you can do. For the body to function well, every part needs to be operating at it’s full potential.
Overall this journey has been rocking my world. This change in teams is going to help promote this growth too! I am thankful for what God taught me with Zealous Love and excited to see what He has in store for my NEW team, Relentless!
