How big is God’s provision?

There is plenty of scripture and truths about God being the ultimate provider. Genesis chapter 1 & 2 speaks a ton about it, describing how He spoke earth and space into existence. Obviously He has no restraints on what He can or cannot provide. I believe everything that I have is a blessing from Him, and I desire to be a good steward of the resources. To view myself as a “river” freely giving what I receive to others downstream; rather than being a “reservoir” and holding what I think belongs to me.

Honestly, sometimes if not most of the time I truly forget Who is the source of the river?

Naturally I put God in a box. I strive to take all aspects of the box down and truly see God for who He says He is.

Last week, we had the privilege to share a meal at Keshab’s house and here more details on his ministry. Heard countless faith stories on God’s healing power, and financial provision. Incredible stories of how God provided a computer and projector for him to show the Jesus film. People he came in contact with that felt God telling them to give away their new laptop, projector, jacket, shoes, etc…the list goes on and on. God placing the desire on people’s heart to provide for the vision God has instilled in Keshab’s heart. Keshab knows he is to be a tool in spreading the Gospel to unreached villages, raise up disciples, and lead a church. God knows His needs, and provided!

All the while he was talking about the ways God has showed up in his life; I was gazing out the window looking around. Looking at the conditions of his apartment building, the pothole ridden streets, and the hustle and bustle of little shops around. Living in the outskirts of Pokhara off the main road into Pokhara from Kathmandu; surrounded by farm land, you begin to realize there isn’t much financially going on – especially compared to America.

I kept wondering; where does the resources come from? Church tithe, but how? Random missionaries, is that sustainable for years? How does Keshab and his wife survive; doing God’s work without international resources streaming in?

GOD, the creator of heaven and earth!

The box I found myself putting God is in this: God Provision = (Family + Friends) x Bank Accounts.

As I continue this pursuit to follow God; the steps of faith seem larger and provision seem insurmountable. Leaving the corporate life to fundraise for the World Race; a one time amount felt do-able, and God definitely did it! Now as I further distance myself from my prior race life; I wonder more and more where will support come from. How is God going to pull this off, to make the way. Just the thought of raising funds for G42 Leadership Academy seems out of reach most days.

Grateful that God has showed up many of times in my life; and my faith has grown over the years. And for all the testimonies of God’s provision that missionaries and local preachers have shared with me. At the end of the day; Jesus is the King of kings, fully alive and is the ultimate source of provision. I just need to keep being an obedient follower of Jesus Christ, and He will prepare the way!

I have no need of a bull from your stall

or of goats from your pens,

for every animal of the forest is mine,

and the cattle on a thousand hills.

I know every bird in the mountains,

and the insects in the fields are mine.

If I were hungry I would not tell you,

for the world is mine, and all that is in it.

Psalm 50: 9-12

“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?Matthew 6: 25-27
