Before flying into India, I had a feeling that this month was going to be amazing, but after arriving, this country is even better than I could imagine. On Saturday October 3rd we literally had the privilege of being the hands and feet to build God’s kingdom. What do I mean when I say that? Well, my entire squad, yep all 54 of us, were asked to carry bricks up a mountain, in order to build a church.

Our day first started off at 5:30am with breakfast. Then we all piled in the back of two dump trucks and rode to the mountain where our day would begin. Once arriving, we were not only amazed at the giant mountain we saw in front of us, or the large pile of bricks, we were surprised to see that our team name RAJ was engraved on all the bricks! We then met all of the locals there to help, had tea, and began. One by one, we all lined up arm length apart, up the mountain and handed or tossed each other a brick at a time. As time passed, we stopped about every 30 min for a water or a tea break. Oh yea, lets just say that with the sun and humidity, it was about 100 degrees out there. Our clothes no longer became recognizable, we had a few hand cuts, one teammate had to stop due to heat stroke, we had some start to throw up, rain came down for a bit and I ended up with a severe heat/sweat rash covering my arms and neck. But with all of these interferences, this was a moment of joy beyond what anything of this earth could ever bring us. We weren’t just carrying bricks, we were bringing God’s word to life. In order to accomplish this goal, we all had to work together. We were a group of people from different places, different cultures, and different races, working as a community to fulfill one goal in mind and that is to build and spread God’s kingdom. With this thought in mind, this day was filled with laughter, falls down the slippery slopes of the mountain, games, dance moves, and great conversations. We ended the day by 4:30pm and through all the sweat, we passed up over 4,000 bricks!

This is a day that I will never forget because it is what I live for. The reason I started this race, is to share the love and passion of Jesus Christ around the world. I want to daily be the hands and feet for God’s kingdom through my every move. God placed it in his will for me to be apart of this race, and it is a race that I desire to finish. In order to complete this race, I need you as a community of believers to be my helping hands and feet alongside me. I have been blessed with $9,176 so far and I need to raise $16,000 by Dec 31st. My 3rd deadline of reaching $11,000 by Oct 1st has been extended and now I need to meet both deadlines in the next 2 months. Please join in being the helping hand to financially help me complete this journey.
