Believing in God is a process of stripping one’s self of pride, worry, and selfishness and learning to live on faith, trust, and obedience. This is what God has been showing me so far this year.
Currently, I am an English teacher living in South Korea. Before coming, I was unsure about this next step since the friend that I was, originally, coming to visit came back early. Worry flooded my thoughts on what to do next, but God opened my eyes and showed me that all I needed to do was seek his will. It wasn’t about me, it was about him. The day I realized this, God took away my worries and gave me peace.

So far I have been blessed to travel to six countries. Two of them were through missions trips and two were through volleyball. You see, I thought I was called to spread God mainly through my gifted talent in volleyball but we serve a big God who shows us that we don’t need to limit ourselves.

These trips gave me a heart to serve and be used through God to bring hope, love, and light to their countries. The interesting part about a mission trip is that you go there with the mindset of helping to change them, although once you arrive, you realize that God sent them to change you! Coming from a first world country, you feel like they have so little, but they, actually, have so much joy and light that is beyond this earth. God says, “Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.”
I was led to the World Race through attending a Bible study that a World Race leader happened to be joining that day! I became glued to every word that she said, as soon as she started talking about the race. Immediately, after she finished, my heart smiled first at the fact that there was a ministry out there so beautiful spreading the gospel around the world, and, second, that this is the journey that I had been waiting for all my life.
God calls us to be a paintbrush to help in completing his masterpiece, and this is the passion that he has given me for missions. It is God’s strength in me that helped me become the woman I am today. It is Jesus’ suffering that reminds me that we can make it through any trial, and I want to share that with others. It is his light that shines in darkness and gives us hope to accomplish anything. God has blessed me with passion to want to connect with his body to reach the world. I love Jesus so much, and I want the world to find that same love!
My desire for this trip is to bring God’s hope and love around the world, and through that, to also be broken, because through brokenness comes transformation. I want my first world mentality that expects my food to be warm, or my phone to be brand new, to fade away and for my comfort and contentment in the Lord to grow. Most importantly, I want us to take a walk on this journey together! This is not just my ministry, but it is ours as his body. I am only a part of the body, an extended hand, on the field, but it is our walk together that makes an impact.
As this journey begins, I would love for you to take a walk with me on this journey through prayer and support. I have a long way to go, and I pray that we can fulfill this ministry together!
