The World Race…hmm, what do you think of when you hear that title? Traveling the World, eh, and it gets even better knowing that it’s for Jesus! Well guess what, the World Race is so much more!

Being on the race is a time where every comfort you could imagine is completely stripped from you. Your family and friends, your clothes, your needs and wants, and any control over life you ever thought you had. It is a time where your fears come to life and they sit right in front of you. Bathrooms become the space around you. This bush or hole in the ground will be just fine! Bugs become your friends. Ah! Is that a bug or a mini human? By the way, what does sanitary even mean anymore? Oh, there’s a bug in your food, well looks like it adds to the flavor. Woops! That just fell in the dirt, it’s ok, just brush it off. Rice, rice, and more rice, Yay! Paleo or gluten free, what is that?… Oh yea, that must be an American thing. No napkins? No worries, this shirt will do. By the way, were those gun shots we just heard? A soft surface no longer becomes your bed, anywhere to lay your head is good whether it’s a cement floor, an airport, a taxi that you barley fit in, or a tent. Yes, there’s a taxi with 10 people sitting in a 5 person vehicle, great, it can fit 8 more, lets pile in! What does warm water feel like anymore? Freezing cold bucket showers get you just as clean. I don’t even know what a washing machine looks like anymore, hand washing even helps you burn some calories. And lets not even talk about the scents that our clothing gain, hmm, I can wear this one more day. Well, I want you to ask yourself a question: When has God ever called you to live a life of comfort?

Mathew 10: 7-10 As you go, preach this message: “The kingdom of heaven is near.” Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons. Freely you have received, freely give. Do not take along any gold or silver or copper in your belts: take no bag for the journey, or extra tunic, or sandals or a staff; for the worker is worth his keep.

Now when you read this verse, God didn’t say, but before you do all that, bring your favorite purse, teddy bear, or person with you. No, God said leave everything behind, and Go because I am sufficient enough! This is the life God calls us to live, and the life I couldn’t be more blessed to live daily. The World Race is about discovering more and more about yourself. As C.S. Lewis said well, “The more we let God take us over, the more truly ourselves we become-because he made us. This is a daily journey of being crafted, molded, and pushed to a higher standard by the community around me. Literally, how cool is it to wake up everyday to serve, worship, love, pray and be challenged to be the best you can be in Christ. I look around at my brothers and sisters, and smile at the love God has given me in my heart for them. I also smile when we travel to these amazing places and I see the love God has for us through his beautiful kingdom he created for us. The World Race is a journey that is not easy, a journey that is challenging, but a journey that God calls us to live, you just have to be ready. Are you?

Thank you to every person that has supported me through funds and prayers on this journey, because it is a journey I can’t do alone, but a walk we can do together! I would love your support to help me reach my goal of $11,000 by the end of November and my final deadline of $16,277 by the end of December. Please hit the support me link at the top of the page!
