Let me tell you about my final three bullet points,
The Tattoo, Angkor Wat, and the spider.
My tattoo.
I had a completely different tattoo that I wanted when I left the states. I wanted Isaiah 54:10 with mountains. After a discussion with Jesus he told me…”ya no”. I got a little frustrated and was questioning him. Why not? Its an amazing verse that has helped me a lot? He told me you don’t need a constant reminder of that verse because it is written on your heart. DANG JESUS THAT WAS SOME HARD TRUTH YOU WERE TELLING ME. I still wanted another tattoo so I went back to him and talked about it again, I didn’t get an answer till secret church a couple days later. They were talking about all the religions in the world but the only thing that stuck out to me was SURRENDER. and Jesus kinda whispered to me, you want a tattoo get that word.
Surrender… okay Jesus you’re messing with me now. Surrender? Why this. And then I had the chance to share my testimony with my squad and as I was preparing and figuring out how to share it, he took me back to solo night on wilderness. The night I decided to start my relationship with Jesus over. I decided that despite all the fighting I had done over wilderness I was going to surrender my life to him. WOW AGAIN JESUS. He told me this is the constant reminder you need. You need to surrender every aspect of your life to me and only me. DANG JESUS. So on Thursday October 5th in at RSD Tattoos in Siem Reap, Cambodia, I got the word surrender tattooed on my wrist.
P.S. Its in my moms handwriting
P.P.S. I was the first person on my squad to get a tattoo while on the World Race.
Angkor Wat
Wow its beautiful. It deserves its spot on the man made wonders of the world list. As I was walking around the temple, I had a great feeling of discomfort in my heart. I felt like I was betraying God in a way by being there. But God used that discomfort to show me in these next 8 months, I’m going to be in very uncomfortable situations but that he is going to use me, my teammates and my squamates to be a light for him. WE ARE HIS HANDS AND FEET.
WE ARE GOING TO BE THE LIGHT BREAKING THROUGH THE DARKNESS.
WE ARE GOING TO BE THERE READY TO CLEAN UP AFTER A STORM.
and I’m ready for it.
Oh ya the spider.
I ate a spider. It was crunchy, and tasted like chicken. I probably won’t ever eat one again… Need proof go check out my Insta @emryfisher
