As many of y’all know I got back from training camp on Sunday. I was there for eleven days. A day and a half was spent on better preparing myself for capturing life next year through a storytellers workshop. The other days were spent mentally and physically preparing for life on the field. Some things were harder to grasp than others
One of the things that took a while for me to get was God speaking to me. I had heard before last week that God could speak to you but I had never experienced it for myself. This caused me to brush aside what they were saying.
The night we talked about it someone came up to me during praise and worship and said, God showed me an image of you standing in a small room with a door that can lead you to amazing places. The only thing is you can’t open the door. God is standing next to you in this room and is telling you, Let me open the door and lead me where you need to go. When she left I sat in my chair and started crying (sadly this wasn’t the first time I cried at training)
The next morning we went to another session and they asked us to sit and spend time talking to God for five minutes. During those five minutes I kept seeing different pictures of rivers I have seen. Then a song came on and it caused me to drop all the things I was thinking about. The song was about a river and being baptized in it. I was in shock. Earlier this year I had decided I wanted to be baptized but kept pushing it off. I brushed off the idea by thinking that I was just telling myself to get baptized and it wasn’t Jesus telling me to.
Later when I was by myself I told Jesus, If you are telling me to get baptized give me another sign that I can’t say I influenced. That night at praise and worship the song I had heard earlier that day was one of the songs we sang. Once again I was in shock. Jesus was telling me to get baptized. HE IS OPENING THE DOOR FOR ME.
Before I leave I hope to be baptized and would love your support as I go through this.
Next year I have the pleasure of living life with 5 other girls who are going to be my team! We will be living and serving the Lord together as a family!
