This month we are staying at the Overflow Guest house-I don’t think that’s a coincidence! We are doing unsung heroes as our ministry, which means we will find people who could potentially be a ministry partner for future world Race teams. We don’t exactly know what this will look like, but we will also be helping around the guest house.
So for our team name:
How did the team name “overflow” come about?
At training camp we were given a day out with our teams. Our instructions were to come up with a team name and to be back to camp before our next worship session. So of course we went to Chick-fil-A and Starbucks. At Starbucks we really dove in to scripture and some deep conversations about what we want our team to represent to our ministry hosts and our supporters.
My teammate Kyle brought up the subject of having a cup half empty or half full and the fact that God is the one that fills up our cups (souls). We then came to the conclusion that we are simply just the cup that holds the love the Lord gives us and we choose to let the love overflow into the world around us.
Ever since we chose that name we all have heard the word “overflow” more times than we can count. I believe that is the Lord showing up. He is making it so evident that He wants His love to overflow into the world wherever we go on this planet. That’s simply why we are here. The Lord has so much love for each of us, and I see no reason for us not to share it.
Romans 15:13 May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
1 Thessalonians 3:12 May the Lord make your love increase and overflow for each other and for everyone else, just as ours does for you.
2 Corinthians 4:15 All this for your benefit, sot that the grace that is reaching more and more people may cause thanksgiving to overflow to the glory of God.
Thank you for the continued prayers and encouragement! If you’d like for us to pray for anything specific let me know! Love you all and am so thankful for each of you following me along on this adventure!
