We made it to India friends! We were stuck in Atlanta for an extra day because our plane arrived at the airport damaged. But we are here now and it’s fun seeing how different everything and everyone is!

India is uncomfortable. There are stray dogs that roam the streets that I just want to love on. The drivers are crazier than Atlanta drivers. There are no lines on the roads, and there are so many honking horns that I’ll probably never become accustomed to. I promise I’m not complaining just observing. We have had rice and curry with every meal except breakfast. Chai and biscuits are such a treat. I took a bucket shower at 1:30 am and then woke up at 5 am because I couldn’t sleep anymore, so I went to the rooftop and watched the sunrise and worshiped with some of my squad mates. There are parts of this city that are so pretty but then there are parts full of garbage. The place we are staying in has toilets (praise Jesus), but we can’t flush our toilet paper because it will clog the toilets.

We haven’t been here but two days, and I have found myself thinking am I really here?! Why am I here? This is about to be my life for a whole year. But the Lord has given me peace about being here and he has reminded me that there is a task at hand and he has chosen me to play a role in it. How special is that? I know the Lord has so much in store for my team and my squad as a whole. This is just the beginning and I feel like so many things have already happened.

My team will be working in a village for the month planting churches, and we will be using squatty potties and bucket showers. Prayers for the people we will be working with and us as we travel there tomorrow. The information about the specific village is sensitive and if you would like to know more about it feel free to email or message me!
Thanks for reading!
