So three days out of the week we travel to a garbage dump. This garbage dump has a smell that is just about unbearable. People live here. There are several families that live in this place that is full of garbage. We go to sing songs, teach them a bible story, and play games with them. We also feed them dinner.
Some of the kids don’t go to school because they can’t afford the school fees. Some of the parents go and rob the garbage and find things to sell so they can make money.
Thankfully, we have the opportunity to provide them with Jesus, a hot meal, and some fun. Everyday they don’t want us to leave.
It’s so sad to see that the phrase “One mans trash is another mans treasure” is really true and it’s how these people make a living.
The ministry we are working with has a sponsorship program to help feed these children on the days that we come. However, after this month they don’t have any money to buy food.
$35 provides food for 1 kid for 1 month
$750 for food for all of the kids for 1 month
