Hey amazing people
I haven’t posted a blog the last 2 weeks. The main reason is I am really indecisive on what to write and the other reason is there is so much to everyday it is hard to pick one of the amazing things to write about. So I am just going to do a overall update!
Since October my team started a new ministry. It is much different than our last ministries in the since that it is very organized. Everyday we invite different age group of kids in the community to play games with us, worship, and learn about Jesus together. The ministry‘s heart is to see children grow up as disciples of Jesus and be a light for their community. I have fallen in love with it so much! We work with four Germans our age. It has been fun having three cultures and learning from each other!
On Monday we now have discipleship days. It consists of having a session in the morning, then in the afternoon we go out into the community and practice what we learned. There is so many awesome God stories on how he pursues us all. I have gotten to pray over a lady, at a dog park, whose husband died 2 months earlier and she is struggling to work while raising her 7 year old son. However she had so much joy and appreciation to have God in her life! She walked away more confident in God and that made so happy! I loved being able to just talk and learn from her.
I have learned that I am comfortable in the unknown and uncomfortable in the known.
I am learning what it means to invite others into my walk with Jesus.
I sat down with God one day and processed why he actually brought me on the world race and took me away from home. What a story but I realized this time truly to to make the dream I have for life more of a reality.
My team and I are starting to grow more together. I now can truly call most of them my friends and I really do love them. I am learning so much more about God through each of them. We have gone running together, coffee shop exploring, coffee plantations, praying for others, and just discovering Costa Rica in the eyes of Jesus. Oh also countless of times trying to put together our brains to speak Spanish ha!
I have met so many amazing people who shine Jesus like no other. I am also reflecting on how I can learn from them each to live a life more like Jesus. (Upcoming blog keep an eye for it in the next couple of weeks!!)
My verses that are really in my life right now is Philippians 2:3-4 and Jeremiah 1:7-10.
My squad has had party’s, slam poetry night, game nights, and dancing nights!
Overall I am actually blown away what all can happen in almost 3 months. We have become involved in many community’s, met so many people, and seen God moves in pretty neat ways!
Think what can happen if we really pour into the communities we are already involved in and live in.
