We walk into our first ministry and immediately little arms wrap around my legs and little voice say “Emmy, Emmy” hugs go around to each little kid. The boys then stop and lift up their arms like a dinosaur signaling me to become a dinosaur and chase them around. I continue to chase them around while they laugh, smirk, and imagination of hunting me down. Here and there little hands find their way into mine hand and I am lead off to another adventure of a little child’s mind. While playing around the teachers and I exchange smiles and laughs of the funny moments while they get time to sit and relax. After playing we go and teach them for about 45 minutes including games, sound effects, and always music! The second ministry we get there at lunch and we are always a distraction. The kids come up we exchange the personal handshakes we each have. Have a small conversation with the little bit of each other language we know and then we laugh.
During theses last two weeks I have mainly learned how love truly is it’s own language. I have built relationships with the kids and the teachers through love and no words.
I get the opportunity to help put the kids down for a nap everyday at our second ministry and it is my favorite thing. I sit down in between two kids we exchange smiles and puppies eyes to not to go to sleep. We share whispers and funny faces while I scratch their heads or their backs till they fall to sleep. I have learned so much at nap times. While I put them to sleep I pray for each child that they know they are loved, they know Jesus personally, and what ever they are going through at home that even at a young age they experience God themselves. I have learned that God is a still God in the since that He is already everywhere we only need to step into His presence. While praying for these kids I step into His presence that is already around them and I experience God in such incredible ways simply acknowledging him in that moment. Guys I am experiencing the simplicity of stepping into Gods love that is already present in every place. I have fallen more and more with God through each teacher and kids I get to know. How can you start loving without words and stepping into God presence in your everyday life? How is your mission field going? I would love to hear about it! Thank you guys so so so much for reading this it truly means a lot.
